Ingredients

Equipment

  • oven
  • skillet
  • baking sheet
  • paper towel-lined plate
  • spatula

Method

  1. Preheat the oven according to the fries package directions, or to 425°F (220°C) if using fresh-cut fries.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, then crumble once cool.
  3. Bake or air-fry the fries until golden and crisp, following package directions or your preferred method. Season lightly with salt and black pepper if desired.
  4. Spread the hot fries in an even layer on an oven-safe platter or baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the fries, then add the crumbled bacon on top.
  6. Return the fries to the oven for 2 to 4 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Drizzle the ranch dressing over the loaded fries.
  8. Finish with sliced green onions and parsley, if using, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra-crisp fries, avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. You can swap sharp cheddar for mild cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a cheese blend. Serve immediately so the fries stay crisp.
