Equipment

  • oven
  • large baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • spatula
  • measuring cups

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tots are golden and crisp.
  4. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the hot tater tots.
  5. Return to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes, just until the cheese is melted.
  6. Top the loaded tater tots with crumbled bacon, green onions, and parsley if using.
  7. Drizzle with ranch dressing and add small dollops of sour cream over the top.
  8. Season lightly with salt and black pepper, then serve immediately while hot and crisp.

Notes

For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. You can substitute cooked turkey bacon or use a different shredded cheese if desired.
